Over 25 years ago a group of home-schooling Mom's got together to encourage one another and to promote 'socialization' of the home-schooled children. Initially they made baskets as the children played and the group became known as 'The Basket Guild'.
The group has supported one another thru life's events...births,deaths,marriages, divorces,job changes,etc. Because Deb was in the hospital in Arkansas while Eliana and Evelyn were born, Deb missed the baby showers that would have happened had she been here and healthy. Because Trey, Katka, and Evelyn are here visiting, and Amanda,Jon, and Eliana were available, tonight was the long-delayed combined baby-showers.
Of course, since the new sun room is available, it became meeting central! What a blessing to have long-term friends and a place to meet.

Dear Deb and Vern, I have been so negligent in keeping up and also posting. I want you to know that my heart is rejoicing at how you are celebrating being home with your precious granddaughters. It is not a good excuse, but you know how the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are when you are teaching! Now that the break is here, I want to catch up on all of your posts. ReplyDeleteWhat a joyous event - Deb looks wonderful.. I know the granddaughters are good "medicine"! They are just precious together - they almost could be twins.
