Friday Morning miseries

Deb's not feeling so hot this morning. She is experiencing the full joys of chemo. Lot's of cleanup to do. Morning labs were taken in the room next door, and we are so grateful for the closeness benefit for Deb.

Youparr did get to go home for a few weeks. Her granddaughter was especially delighted!

We started off the morning with another infuser of antibiotics.

Deb has ZERO interest in food today although she ate 2 crackers and half a peeled pear.I have to encourage her. She can barely get her meds down also.

We had planned to make her spaghetti for our celebration when she starts back up on blood count and has her appetite back. I bought the makings and cooked the meat for the meat sauce this morning and put it in the freezer until needed.

While Deb was napping after the morning labs I took a long brisk walk. Even at 9am the temp felt like a hundred.

How's the weather holding up where you are? Heard there was even a small earthquake in DC this morning. Anyone feel it?

Blessings all! Have a great weekend! We don't have weekends out here.

Vern

  1. Will check with Beth, as she works 4 floors under in a State Dept. office. The Ronald Regan Building.

It is HOT here, ususally it is VERY dry...but thought of my Southern roots yesterday, as we had lots of humidity due to thunder and lighting shows from a distance. Really did not cool off at all during the night. Our guest from Scotland where very intrigued by the show.

    Hugs...Y

  2. So sorry the chemo is hitting! Ugh - just seems to be the worst feeling. Stuart had extreme sensitivity to smells (he would get sick) - we would joke and say he was pregnant!
He ate rice crispies for 5 months. He really only wanted things with NO flavor and nothing hot. He couldn't plain plain water - so we would do half water, half gatorade.
Praise God the counts are coming up. I know y'all are anxious to get back so Eliana can come! I am gonna have to get her out myself if she doesn't make a showing soon!
I am so anxious to meet her.
Love y'all. Hang in there - each time you are there means you are closer to getting this thing beat.
    Praying.
PS - Stuart just had his one year scan and he continues to be in remission! Praise GOD for his healing...we are so thankful. I pray this is you in one year.
