Wednesday Celebration

In addition to the ravages of cancer, Deb has suffered from the side-affects of the chemo cocktails she has endured this year. Her eyesight, teeth, and hearing all took a hit. As soon as we got home from Arkansas, she went to the dentist. Yesterday she got her new magical hearing aids. Her old ones could not overcome the loss she had this year. These new ones have Bluetooth capability and allow her to sync to her cell phone and TV so she can hear. They also interact with each ear to enhance her direction-of-sound ability. She left the audiologist's office with a huge grin...she could hear! What you may not have know is that until yesterday, she was reading lips and had tremendous trouble hearing certain pitch sounds...particularly female voices. PTL,that is better today!

Last evening Amanda hosted us for a photo session and meal since we have our three children and families together for a few days. Eliana and Evelyn have new Christmas dresses and were they ever cute! We were joined by chief angel Cassy and 'Fedge.' (Jeff)

We celebrated Deb's enduring and successful fight for her life.

Blessings as your year ends and you begin the next! Take nothing for granted!

  1. Dear Deb and Vern:

Glad you had a Merry Christmas and saw every one of the grandbabies. I am so thrilled that you are finally over with the main treatment; did your seed ceremony; and am home and on maintenance. It is truly wonderful that our faith in Christ gives us so much hope.

I am praying that you get well fast and get your strength back, and that you and Vern go forward from here. Love, Deb Cook
