Day + 17 - A Restful Sunday

Deb was very happy today
We got in and out of the clinic before lunch.  The APN said Dr van Rhee's goal is to concentrate on getting Deb's electrolytes stable. Labs showed some needs in electrolytes and and an IV provided some of what was needed. A 24 hour black chemo pump bag-otherwise known as an anchor-was attached to Deb's port. We brought infusers home also.

Deb's own body has begun to produce needed blood components. Although labs showed she needed platelets and red blood, after consultation with several APNs, we elected to let Deb's body attempt to supply the needs. If it doesn't, we will have reds and platelets tomorrow.

Since Deb needs these, she is fairly woozy. She glides along the walls with one hand touching the wall for stability. She is having trouble standing still and tends to make small steps.

The rash that was on her back is mostly gone but has migrated to her legs and upper arms. It is pretty severe. Perhaps we will get help with that tomorrow.

Tomorrow is more of the same.

Several of Deb's Angels are celebrating birthdays. Happy 39th birthdays to Emma and Cassy!

Blessings!

White Count-below 2 is neutrapenic and indicates Deb's vulnerability for infection.
Platelets -a whitish colored component of blood. Low platelets=higher Woozy factor!
CRP -An indicator of relative health. Lower is better. When the number creeps up, Deb could be getting sick.
