Saturday: getting better...slowly!

Deb woke up starving, which is a good sign that health is returning. She goes thru all sorts of cravings. She first wanted ice cream, so that's what she had! Then she wanted a pear salad similar to the ones my mother makes. Since we have two pear angels supplying us with gourmet pears the whole time we've come to Arkansas, we had a nice ripe pear. Using what I had available I made the requested pear salad. Thanks Pear Angels! Thanks Mom for your examples over the years!

After we ate breakfast we had a Skype visit with Trey,Katka, and Evelyn who are in Prague,CZ visiting Katka's family. Evelyn was making all sorts of noises in an attempt to communicate with us.

We have many helpers at the clinic. The APN's are our principle decision makers and they coordinate our care with the doctors, nurses, labs, and pharmacists. They are chief encouragers and answer many of our questions.

Deb has been pretty miserable since last weekend. Apparently her bladder has been in spasms and sloughing off its lining and creating much agony.Last weekend Deb screamed in pain about every thirty minutes while sleeping. Of course that meant that sleep was poor for both of us. Slept next to a screaming lady lately? Not recommended!
Deb finally got several meds that have helped greatly. She can really feel the difference. She may have passed several kidney stones also. Getting the cath has helped her health but complicated our mobility significantly. We really do conduct 'bag drags' as we load up to go back and forth.

We met a new classmate who had on this enormous rodeo buckle. When I asked about it, she proudly explained that she is a goat roper and barrel racer. Know what those events are? In the Air Force, exercises that were poorly planned or erratic were called 'goat ropes.' Barrel racing is riding a trained horse around a series of barrels.

We love our nurses.

  1. Yipee! for the appetite!...and the great fresh pears. What a week you've had. Thankful things are improving. Praying the bladder issues will soon be resolved. Thankful for all the angels....extensions of God's incredible love for you. Love, hugs, & prayers, Em
