In the lobby of the new 12 story cancer clinic there is this strange stone carving that is in the middle of a live planting of flowers. The carving is probably six feet long and 18" deep. It looks like a seed pod. Inside it are these 1.5" pewter seeds with words on them.
This whole thing has mystified me by its strangeness until this week. A staff member partially unraveled the mystery.
Each patient who completes the treatment therapy and goes into remission is given two seeds. One to keep and one to place in the seedpod of hope.
We will surely get more understanding in the coming days.
This symbolic gesture is certainly a coveted goal for us. We hope to see the pod overflowing soon.

I, too, pray that soon you'll be putting a seed of HOPE in that pod. What an inspiring idea. Yes, Lord let the pod over-flow!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that Deb is feeling some better. And that your room is clean X2 and you've returned. What an 'adventure' you had last night.
Neat that Abba brings so many interesting, kindred folks to share the journey.
Love, hugs, & prayers, Em
Vern,
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are finding creative ways to keep yourself occupied while Deb recovers. Schlepping belongings up and down stairs and scrubbing your living quarters is probably very theraputic for you.
I love the seed pod imagery. An inspired and inspiring idea. Soon Deb will have a seed in the pod. She already has it within her. It is visible to all who see her. Before long, it will be tangible.
"And for this we labor and strive, that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe." 1 Timothy 4:10.
