Something different!

For the latest plans, see the previous post

Deb had a good night and her labs were good. We have had cabin fever from our restricted lives of condo>hospital>condo. After labs today we decided to take a little road trip and see some countryside. North and west of Little Rock are small mountains, large lakes, and some of the finest trout streams in America. So, we drove a triangular course to see Greers Ferry Lake at Heber Springs, Ark.

First we headed northwest to Conway to eat lunch at a highly recommended catfish restaurant that our nurse recommended. We could not find it so we stopped at the fire station to ask directions. They had a pink fire engine on display in support of breast cancer research. Ever seen a pink fire engine?

After Conway, we headed North to Heber Springs. The Little Red River runs out of the lake. It is cold and perfect for trout.

We explored the state park and then headed East toward Searcy where we explored the beautiful campus of Harding University. What a pretty campus! Vern works with Janice whose son attends there. Janice and her husband both attended.

Our plan for Monday is labs at 8:30 am, see the APN at 10 am, and if released and weather allows, fly to Peachtree City.

As usual, you can follow us on www.flightaware.com   Tail number is N680V (Redbird)

  1. What a wonderful road trip you had...reminds me of "going to ride" on Sunday afternoons in GA when I was growing up. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I will be praying for a safe trip back to Peachtree City. Love, Mary
